The download was successful, but I the installation must not have been, as when I go to the Control Panel/Programs again, the listing for the HP LasetJet P1000 series has the same blank fields mentioned above.
HP P1006 PRINTER NOT PRINTING INSTALL
When I rebooted, I went to the link you provided to download and install the drivers.
I went ahead and restarted the PC, but the restarting went on and on (for almost 10 minutes) so I thought the process was stuck, and I forced a shutdown. The two Run window actions produced nothing as well. I then went to the Devices and Printers page, and the P1006 was greyed out, and nothing happened when I tried to remove the device. I tried to uninstall it, but when I clicked on Uninstall Program, nothing happened. When I went to the Control Panel/Programs, the list incluides HP LaserJet P1000 Series (that's the only listing), but the fields for Publisher, Size, and Version are blank. Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type " printui.exe /s" (There is a space between.Now go to Control Panel – Devices and Printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.Go to Control Panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
